Months of Naso Protest in Vain

It took about two hours of resistance and confrontation, but 150 National Police, including anti-riot units, successfully pushed the Naso across the river and off the Ganadora Bocas livestock company land.

Ganadora Bocas then moved in with machinery and razed the homes of the indigenous population, approximately 200 now homeless and without provisions.

The Naso had been protesting for months – demonstrating, hunger-striking and marching on the Presidency in the fight to stay on the land that they call their ancestral home.
