The United States beat Panama 1-0 in a friendly game of soccer on Wednesday night at Rommel Fernandez Stadium in Panama City.
“I think we saw a very close game, a very tight game which we luckily won because Panama didn’t finish off the chances that they had,” U.S. Coach Jurgen Klinsmann told the Associated Press.
Graham Zusi scored the only goal of the match in the eighth minute of play, his first international goal. The US played most of the second half a man down after Geoff Cameron received a red card for shoving Blas Perez from behind on a breakaway just outside the penalty area.
Panama’s next friendly match is against Paraguay in Asuncion on February 29.
