A mix of cocaine and horse dewormer from Colombia is being sold in Panama.
Cocaine cut with the Levamisole antiparasitic agent is nothing new. Time Magazine reported that it was found in 80 percent of all cocaine seized in the U.S. in 2010, up from 30 percent in 2008.
Levamisole has not only been found to enhance highs and cravings but can also cause agranulocytosis, a severe autoimmune disorder, in humans.
Symptoms include fever, body aches, chest pain, sore throats and active skin legions.
Read more about Levamisole in a recent study published in the Annals of Emergency Medicine.
